Smiley is the first trans woman to have her name and gender changed on her passport in India. But she wanted more: belonging, justice, safety from hostility. In 2018, she fled to Switzerland to escape the rise of Hindu fascism. In a personal, approachable and humorous way, she takes the audience with her on her path to liberation.
