In the organizer's words:

Jürgen Becker was one of the most important writers and poets of contemporary German literature. He received the Gruppe 47Prize , the Heinrich Böll Prize and numerous other awards. Filmmaker Christoph Felder deliberately gives the floor only to the writer himself and Becker speaks openly - about his home and childhood, about post-war Germany and New York, as well as about the time and his colleagues in Group 47. Becker also talks about writing, about the hell of silence and the thoughts, words and sentences that want to be formulated.

The black-and-white documentary film takes the time to listen to its protagonist. Jürgen Becker repays this attention with authentic closeness.
