A concert reading inspired by the visual worlds of Maurice de Vlaminck

Texts by Marcel Proust, André Gide, Rainer Maria Rilke and others.
Music by Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, Maurice Ravel and others.

Around 1900, there was a veritable explosion of creativity in and around Paris: Writers such as Marcel Proust and André Gide revolutionized literature with their radically subjective style, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel invented musical impressionism, and in painting, the Fauvists, among others, set out to take the lead in modernism with their wild sounds of colour - with Maurice de Vlaminck right in the middle. This musical reading takes you directly into this extremely lively world, which was home to so many great painters, writers and composers.

Ticket holders receive reduced admission (€10) to the exhibition "Maurice de Vlaminck - Rebel of Modernism" (14.09.2024 to 12.01.2025) from the day of the concert until the end of the exhibition period
