JAZZWERK NONETT

The "JazzWerk Nonett" presents contemporary jazz in orchestral form. It is the second program that Dirk Bleese has written for the JazzWerk. The powerful and lyrical compositions of the Hamburg pianist allow the audience to immerse themselves in different worlds of sound. Imaginative instrument combinations, subtle or sometimes rocky beats, complex forms with beautiful melodies and exciting harmonies: today's orchestral jazz that is fun to listen to.

The JazzWerk is a collective of Hamburg jazz musicians and regularly presents orchestral jazz in various formations and different programs at BIRDLAND: In October as an octet, in December as a nonet and in February 2025 in a classic big band format, every other month on the 2nd Wednesday! The members of JazzWerk are all renowned soloists and bandleaders from the Hamburg and German jazz scene.
