The 5th Friday - Underground Country & Folk Night
Only Sad Love Songs - Joris Rose writes coming-of-age stories from his shared room in Rostock, stylishly wrapped up in a vestment of indie pop with an anthemic character. An insider tip for fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Jeremy Zucker or Lewis Capaldi.
With his current single "not meant to stay", he is currently in the NDR1 rotation, was part of the "EVENTIM Popkurs" promotion program for young talent and won first place in the most important newcomer competition in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The music thing was always a foregone conclusion. Joris gained his first experience on stage at the age of 12, when he was still playing punk. At some point, he got his hands on an acoustic guitar and immediately fell in love. From then on, he performed on numerous stages with his guitar and voice and even then only wrote songs about love. After leaving school, Joris fulfilled a small dream - he toured England playing in pubs and on the streets. In London, he even becomes part of the Go Out of Tune Sessions, a live video series of the London music scene.
Joris Rose impresses with his catchy songwriting and charismatic stage presence. With a live band in tow, he will present his debut album - Only Sad Love Songs - in 2024.
LUIS DANNEWITZ is probably the dreamiest musician the German pop-rock world has ever seen. But contrary to the widespread assumption of an irradiated early 20-year-old, the Wismar native is a truly exceptional talent!
His first album "Fade In - Fade Out" was released in early 2023. His song "All These Pastries" brings a daydream of longing but also new hope in the freshly blossoming spring. The new single deals with the bittersweet feeling of imperfection: when you meet someone new & understand them very well, but ultimately it's not enough for more. You are presented with all the sweets until they are taken away "from under your nose". Anyone who wants a daydream to escape to in moments of emotional turmoil and likes harmonious, emotional rock should not miss this song!
