Jüdisches Leben in Leipzig

The Jewish history of Messestadt is as diverse as its kosher cuisine. On this tour through the city center and the Waldstraße district, we will therefore hop through several centuries, get to know the grey eminence of the Brühl as well as the rediscoverer of Bach and Handel, cross today's invisible borders, but will also come across stumbling blocks. The highlight is a short guided tour of the Brody Synagogue, the only one in Leipzig to survive the Nazi pogroms of November 1938 and which today once again serves as a place of worship and community center. There will also be delicious snacks from the Mediterranean and continental kosher cuisine of the Jewish cultural center Ariowitsch-Haus.
