Justin Zitt FRIGO - Jazz

In the organizer's words:

The trio from Mannheim is searching somewhere.
They have found their own musical language, which follows its own grammar. Despite appropriating avant-garde vocabulary from new music and contemporary jazz, they never lose their sense for effects, musical arcs - and thus - accessibility. The balanced band sound of the acoustic trio is just as much a component as the complexity of polyrhythmic structures and the multidimensionality of strongly expanded harmonies, which are explored in the original compositions. The nebulous polyphony of the three individuals gives rise to unique music whose statements are formulated with great intensity and seriousness.

Justin Zitt (winner of the International Piano Competition Freiburg), Julian Grüneberg (bass) and Julius Steyer (drums) have been playing together for over three years now and have gained a lot of concert experience (e.g. Landesjazzfest BaWü, Jazzfestival Freiburg). They will be recording their debut album with FRIGO in spring 2024.
