Kaiser Quartett

Originally a classical string quartet, Hamburg-based Amanda Bailey, Jansen Folkers, Ingmar Süberkrüb and Martin Bentz have also been highly regarded in pop circles since their collaboration with Chilly Gonzales (joint album "Chambers" 2015). He once described them as "the world's most expensive sampler " - musically apt, as precise and rhythmic as the four of them play. What is possible on their albums "Kaiser Quartett", released in 2019, and "Empire", released in 2023, with original compositions with viola, cello and two violins: echoes of film music, Americana, funk and electro, played with absolute timing accuracy and yet unagitated naturalness. The Kaiser Quartet is probably the most subtle unplugged quartet in pop.

In 2017 they won the Hamburg music prize HANS and in 2023 they were awarded the most important Dutch music prize EDISON for their album "Empire".

For the intimate setting at Nachtasyl on December 5 , the four have put together a special setlist from their two albums and are looking forward to presenting their Hamburg audience with a musical surprise in addition to the permanent new line-up Amanda Bailey.
