Katharsis von Marie Dresler

In the organizer's words:

Whether in house-sized installations and paintings or in microscopically small figures and handicrafts: Marie Dresler plays with our ideas of right and wrong. What we carelessly threw away yesterday is now magically transformed in her works and we discover images and scenes that we otherwise only know from dreams.

She shows us the big in the small and the small in the big. Her works touch us and invite us to engage with ourselves. Those who get involved can experience an inner transformation - the miracle of catharsis.
Or as one visitor to her "Hexenhaus" described it: "It was completely disturbing and fascinating at the same time.
I've never seen anything like it and I'm so glad I squeezed in just before the end."

Marie Dresler studied fine arts in Groningen and Berlin and lives and works in Berlin.
