Svetlana Kundish from Berlin is coming to the HanseShtetel for a duo concert with Anna Vishnevska. Together they will sing songs and nigunim for a better world and songs of consolation against fear and melancholy. Both were born in the Ukraine, both studied classical singing and both are known for traditional and new Yiddish songs. In addition, Sveta Kundish
is the first female cantor in the history of Jewish communities in Lower Saxony. The two singers invite you to a special song recital with ballads from their homeland and from all over Eastern Europe.

The HanseShtetl in the Goldbekhaus will once again be presenting concerts and sessions in 2025. Musicians from the HanseShtetl in Hamburg invite friends from the Yiddish scene to duo concerts and sessions. With a total of four duo concerts, the HanseShtetl will showcase the diversity of Yiddish music. This is because artists from Hamburg are part of the international music scene and are networked in the Global Yiddish Shtetl.

The duo concerts are always on Saturdays and on the following Sunday the artists lead free sessions in the Goldbekhaus with an open stage for everyone (Sunday, February 16, 3 to 5 pm).

Sveta Kundish (vocals, guitar) was born in Chernobyl, Ukraine, and emigrated to Israel with her family at the age of 13. Her extensive musical and vocal studies include a master class with the legendary Yiddish singer Nechama Lifshitz, and she completed her cantorial training in 2017. She performs throughout Europe with a wide range of Jewish music and has also made a name for herself as a lecturer.

Anna Vishnevska (vocals, guitar) studied singing in Munich and is at home in several musical worlds. In addition to concerts as a classical singer, she is particularly fond of old Yiddish songs, which she interprets in a unique way. She is a singer with "A Mekhaye" and also works as a choir director.
