Let it rip!
"Kilminister" - damn close to the original: Halle musicians Sven Büttner, Olaf Mehl and Matthias Schimetzek-Nilius pay homage to the legendary rock band Motörhead.
Loud, louder, Motörhead: Since its foundation in 1975, the British rock band has been one of the most influential music formations in the world. Bassist Lemmy Kilmister, the former head of the band, has sadly passed away. Three people from Halle are on a mission to keep Motörhead's music alive.
To bring Motörhead to the people - and they come damn close to the famous original! Their name: KILMINISTER.
The project was launched in 2010 by Sven "Lemmy" Büttner, Matthias "Meff" Schimetzek-Nilius and Olaf "Ole" Mehl. The music of Motörhead is of great importance to all three of them. And so together they offer an acoustic treat - and a visual one too, by the way, because bassist Sven Büttner looks strikingly similar to Motörhead boss Kilmister.
The trio has almost 90 minutes of Motörhead songs in its repertoire, spanning the band's history. And the amateur project is becoming more and more of a cult show: the number of performances is steadily increasing and the enthusiasm among fans is huge.
