Kinga Glyk & Band - Real Life - Tour 2024

In 2017, a highly talented and just 20-year-old artist from our neighboring country of Poland entered the world virtually overnight - and caused a sensation like no jazz musician ever before with unimaginable click figures for her video "Tears in Heaven". She then toured almost continuously for years, playing in small jazz clubs and at major festivals. There was hardly a program booklet that didn't feature her portrait on the cover, see Philharmonie Köln or Jazz Montreux.

And much more: TV stations all over the world reported on a phenomenon, magazines wanted her story. In short: Kinga Glyk achieved an enormous level of recognition. In the process, she achieved the feat of going from social media darling to a true favorite of a discerning concert audience.

The now released "Real Life" is not only Głyk's first album in over five years, but also her most striking to date. The signature of this generational talent has finally become a signature sound - her bass playing is now unmistakable. All the songs were recorded last winter in Catalonia, Spain, with Grammy-winning Nic Hard (Snarky Puppy, Charlie Hunter, Ute Lemper) involved as sound engineer/mixer.

Furthermore, this young and likeable woman is catapulting jazz into a new orbit with her fresh style and concentrated youth power. She keeps in touch with her fans on Snapchat, Instagram & Co. and also brings young people closer to her favorite music - sounds beyond the music industry push. You can hear in Kinga's playing that her whole life - in the lap of a highly musical family - has been shaped by music.

"When I was a little girl, I always pretended to be a bass player myself, and I always knew I wanted to play bass. For me, it's just the best instrument in the world."

And what a wonderful path she has taken to fulfill this dream! She wasn't dragged on tour as a pretty side-woman by a grand master of jazz, but has interpreted her career completely on her own - sitting cross-legged on the floor and playing Eric Clapton's sad mega-hit in front of the camera.
