On October 16, popanz and süperdisko present an extraordinary concert event with an after-show party at Bumann & Sohn - musical diversity, innovative sounds and the creative fusion of the most diverse cultural, pop and subcultural influences:
Headliner Kit Sebastian, the London duo consisting of Kit Martin and Merve Erdem, have just released their album 'New Internationale' on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label and are making a stop in Cologne on their European tour.
Local support Güldeste will finally present their eagerly awaited first solo EP 'Fruit Cake' (süperdisko records). A foretaste was already given in April this year as local support at Club Volta Cologne for Lalalar from Istanbul.
Warm up and aftershow party with süperdisko kollektiv and special guest Elias Agogo, Oakland, California.
The artists and their sounds set new impulses that are emblematic of a pluralistic society. They offer a necessary and unavoidable alternative to one-dimensional and stereotypical world views and attitudes.

Kit Sebastian enchant their audience with moments of pure pop bliss, timeless nostalgia and seductive complexity. 'New Internationale' is their most musically compelling and emotionally challenging third album and their debut on Brainfeeder Records - a captivating synthesis of the sounds and styles that have long fascinated Kit Sebastian:
French pop and Anatolian psychedelia, vintage tropicália and early rock 'n' roll, infused with influences of soul and prog wafting through the open windows of the duo's collective imagination. Their music is a joyful expression of lively grooves and sophisticated lyricism that effortlessly transcends borders and socio-cultural preconceptions.
The majority of the songs were written on tour, inspired by the sounds they discovered on their travels. Like the first single release 'Metropolis', whose hook was influenced by the approach of some famous Azerbaijani musicians (such as Vagif Mustafazadeh or Rafig Babayev), but played over a more western funk groove. An Italian analog synthesizer found in a junkyard is used and ends with a samba section.

Support act:
Güldeste, who hails from Izmir, is currently making a name for herself with her captivating one-woman show. The multi-faceted artist playfully captivates her audience with soulful vocals, spoken word interludes and her unique violin playing, which is always carried by energetic synth bass lines and driving beats.
Her sound is a fascinating fusion of diverse influences: She combines electropop, disco and club beats with elements of psychedelic rock, neo-classical and jazz. In addition to her Turkish-Mediterranean roots, her international travels, stays and immersion in different musical cultures - from Indian music to modern electronic sounds - are formative elements of her music.
Her first solo EP 'Fruit Cake', released on 24.10.24 on süperdisko records, is a statement for her bubbling creativity, unbridled joie de vivre and curiosity paired with the urge to push boundaries, dissolve and combine them into an innovative and diverse musical style. Güldeste creates an immersive and intense sound experience that reflects their joy of experimentation and creative vision. It's an announcement of more to come! The raw versions of new tracks are already in the bag! >

Aftershow party I free entry
After the live shows, it's on - aftershow party or chillout? The direction is clear, Wednesdays have long been a highlight beyond the mainstream in Cologne's nightlife. The süperdisko collective around founder Burakete and Young Gun DJ Yunus represent the diversity of a new post-migrant (self-)consciousness, incorporating their different cultural roots into electronic, pop and subcultural music genres and merging them into new styles and sounds that create the frequency that gets the dancefloor shaking.
As a special guest at the DJ booth, the collective welcomes Elias Agogo (aka Elias Foerster), a Californian by choice, on a visit home. Elias, who has repeatedly combined electronic ambient sound with distinctive instruments in various projects, sometimes himself on the saxophone or with his brother Simon Foerster on the harp, and most recently founded the All Ears Intl. label, is a DJ and selector dedicated entirely to the dance floor. His sets create spaces full of bass and groove that give the party crowd a feeling of belonging to something bigger, something together. Yes - inclusion is the motto of the hour - are you ready for a long night? Ayol - hazir miyiz!?

At a time when populist and discriminatory movements are trying to divide society, Süperdisko is a statement: for inclusion, for overcoming prejudice and for celebrating diversity as the cornerstone of our common future. In the coming years, this movement will be indispensable in an increasingly pluralistic society - as an unavoidable alternative to the dominant, often racist narratives.
Süperdisko is a cultural platform that lives inclusion at all levels. For over a decade, Süperdisko has been connecting post-migrant music and art with mainstream society by putting artists and content at the center that are often marginalized. By telling stories that go unmentioned, forgotten and marginalized, the "Untold Stories". It is a space that celebrates diversity, challenges prejudices and incorporates post-migrant perspectives.
