Concerts by classical music stars are sold out all over the world, despite the repeatedly invoked crisis in classical cultural institutions. The young musicians shine at music competitions, make highly acclaimed recordings and are invited to the relevant festivals as crowd-pullers. How do these stars inspire their audiences?

In this series of lectures,Harald Eggebrecht contrasts two outstanding soloists. Audio and video recordings demonstrate their unique virtuosity, musical imagination and instrumental quality, and thus their unmistakable character.

Harald Eggebrecht is a book author and freelance music critic for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, among others.
