The Rauhnächte, which traditionally lie between Christmas and Epiphany, have great significance in popular belief. They are regarded as a time of transition, the beginning of a new year, which must now be filled with good thoughts and deeds. While nature takes a short break in January and February, demons, trolls, gnomes and witches are particularly active in Bavaria during this time.

Peter Hutmann takes us into the legendary world of these mysterious creatures with short stories. The Arabella musicians provide the musical accompaniment to this cheerful excursion into a mostly unfathomable world of the hidden.
