KoLab Day - 20.06.24 16:00-20:30 - Digital Coproduction Lab - Park of the Twin Cities 2:

KoLab Days are workshop / exhibition / networking events that take place three times a year and offer a variety of digital art and culture activities. From VR workshops to sound synthesis and web art, different topics are offered for beginners to advanced users.

Workshop offers:

16:00-19:00 - KoLab Day: Creative Coding on the web with p5js and Hydra

How can you have a dialog with the computer using text instructions? In this introductory workshop, we will dive into the exciting world of creative coding with p5.js and Hydra. These two open source platforms make it possible to bring artistic ideas to the web with the help of code.

17:00 - 19:00 - KoLab Day: Virtual Realities in Unreal Engine

Unreal Engine is a free game engine that is currently almost unavoidable. With Nanite, game world-building was turned upside down overnight, as you no longer had to worry about the level of detail of 3D objects being too high. The result is gigantic worlds with an incredible level of detail. Since Unreal Engine 5, the high level of detail has been supported by Lumen: a lighting system that enables precisely calculated, indirect shadows from Blender & Co - in real time. The Unreal Engine is rounded off by the huge 3D asset arsenal Quixel Bridge, which makes world building in UE5 a beginner-friendly and motivating process.

As part of Kolab Day, the Digital Coproduction Lab presents the "Open Stage: Show your Projects". Are you a digital artist of any kind and have realized exciting projects in the last few months or still have some planned? Would you like to share a useful tool or workflow or simply show what you do? There will be a projector and an HDMI cable at the Open Stage. Join us and show what you want. In this format, we welcome all forms of digital art from coding to film, performance, illustration, sound and electronic music ...
