"Never get old" and "sex, drugs and rock'n'roll". These are the myths. And the coordinates between which the pop cosmos spans. But what does it look like in real life? Behind all the stages and backdrops: How does age affect a musician's career? Can a Frank Spilker face old age more calmly than a Christiane Rösinger? Does it become more difficult to earn money with music as you get older? Is it even financially worthwhile to be a musician in Germany? Or are they all rich heiresses anyway? You rarely read about visits to the job center and younger, retouched band photos in interviews with musicians. Anything that could shake the myth is better left untouched. After all, you're not just selling music, you're also selling a dream. Right? The book "Kommst du mit in den Alltag" breaks all taboos and brings artists of different genders and backgrounds together in 15 interviews to let them talk about everything that would otherwise remain unsaid: How do friends and family actually react to the musician's job? Is it even possible to have children if you are a creative professional? And how do artists maintain friendships with permanent eight-to-fivers? For example, is it good to marry someone so that you can still afford the dentist "when things aren't going so well"?
