Festival of hands and music 2024

Johanna Amelie and Komparse will be playing on 10.8.

Singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Johanna Amelie lives and works in Berlin. She makes music that we want to listen to on a long car journey at sunset. With her baby in her arms, she sings about environmental destruction and hope. A feminist view of the world characterizes the attitude of the songs, which can be located in the indie, folk and pop genres. With Regina Spektor as her role model, Johanna Amelie wrote her first songs as a teenager, then studied music production and began releasing her music with British and German record labels. This was followed by over 300 performances all over the world (including in Iceland, Ghana and New Zealand). Producers such as Gordon Raphael and Pola Roy and Robert Elms (Radio BBC London) have supported her on her way.

Theextrais Cologne-based musician Bodo von Zitzewitz, who has been touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland with his singer-songwriter project for several years - including as the support act for Enno Bunger and Matze Rossi, with whom he also performed as part of the TV NOIR Tourin2019. In his lyrics, he talks about why the city of Fulda shouldn't be so hard on itself, about the system anxiety of couples shopping at IKEA or people who wish for love in their tea in cafés.

Lost Name unfortunately had to cancel their planned performance for health reasons.

The project "Of Hands and Music" by artist Ute Krafft transforms the hands of important female musicians into lifelike sculptures and thus preserves them for future generations - as a small fragment of space and time. It is a non-profit art project, the sculptures are created for exhibitions and remain a permanent part of a museum's collection. There are already more than 300 musicians, including many well-known bands, who have been inspired by the project.

Each exhibition in the "Of Hands and Music" series will be accompanied by a small concert. Musicians whose hand sculptures will be shown will play - at some of the concerts in the series also those whose hands I will only mold on the day of their performance.
