Acoustic 30s punk from Poland

Hańba! (German: Schande!) is a unique band. What if punk rock hadn't come into the world in the 1970s, but in the late 20s - in Poland? Four musicians who had previously played metal, folk and many other genres came together in Krakow in 2013 around this idea. In addition to music, they were united by a fascination for the early years of the Second Polish Republic. Similar to the Weimar Republic, it was characterized by a glamorous, avant-garde cultural scene, but politically dark times were already looming. It is precisely this mood, shortly before the start of the war, that we would like to capture and also ask the group what motivated them to deal with this period today. Do we also see messages for us today in the lyrics of that time, do we find parallels?

Hańba! have absorbed the artistic inspiration of this era and the spirit of the working class at the time, just like the revolt of the Sex Pistols. However, they dispensed with guitars and instead used banjo, accordion, clarinet, drum and... tuba.

Hanba! toured the USA, Great Britain, Australia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands and played at the most prestigious music festivals. Among them are PAASPOP 2022 & 2024, MONA FOMA 2019, Rudolstadt Festival 2018, Womad Festival 2018, WOMEX 2017, Primavera Festival 2017, Open'er Festival 2017, SXSW 2017, and Colours of Ostrava 2017
