An author friend of art historian Anna Bentorp is murdered in Iceland. He was recently working on a true crime novel about an expert on Nordic history who went missing in Iceland. Anna follows his trail and comes across the theft of a medieval Icelandic book. The deeper she delves into the matter, the clearer it becomes: This is about a conspiracy with a deadly goal.
