Krystian Zimerman is considered one of the most important musicians of his generation - and a perfectionist. The legendary maestro plays a maximum of 15 concerts a year, traveling to each of his performances with his own grand piano and adjusting it to the special acoustics of each hall. We are all the happier that he is opening the Schoneberg season at the theater. Zimerman shapes and phrases with a profundity that is second to none. He says to his students: "Listen, don't play the piano. I'm not interested in you playing the piano. I want to hear music." No two recitals are the same for him; the art presented in concert always arises from the moment.
