For the 26th time in a row, artists will be opening their studios to the general public in 2024. The route of the participating studios runs like a red thread through all districts. From year to year, more and more visitors follow the trail of open studios. This gives them exciting insights into creative processes and a wonderful overview of the broad spectrum of Essen's art scene.

The places of origin are just as varied as the works of the individual creatives. The "Art Trail", which is organized by the City of Essen's Department of Culture, takes visitors to municipal studios, cultural workshops and private homes that are otherwise not open to the public.

Dates and public relations work

In 2024, visitors will once again have the opportunity to plan their studio visits online via the geoportal and put together their very own art trail route. The studios can be sorted by district or by date.

The Cultural Office also publishes a practical and free flyer so that visitors to the "Kunstspur" don't lose track of the huge range on offer. The flyer lists all participating artists, the addresses and opening hours of the studios as well as the best transport connections from Essen Central Station.
