LAMENT + THE FOREIGN RESORT + KLEZ.E - OPEN AIR 2024

Lament is back! The loyal fan base can breathe a sigh of relief and anyone who doesn't know the Leipzig band around mastermind Sebastian Söllner should definitely be excited. Söllner's voice, somewhere between Thom Yorke and Robert Smith, characterizes the band's sound. Wave, post-punk, guitar pop - Lament seek and find their own way - sometimes as light-footed as a somnambulistic dance through a sunny lavender field, sometimes as melancholy as a barefoot march at blue hour in an alpine glacier landscape. Lament is Sebastian Söllner and Tom Gumprecht's shimmering, ethereal guitar sound carried by Arne ConCarne on bass, who sometimes dares to play a melodic arc, and the tight groove of Frank Berger on drums. Finely programmed electronic finesse completes the panoramic sound.

The Foreign Resort from Copenhagen play melodic and atmospherically dense post-punk / new wave. Cheeky reverb guitars are skillfully reminiscent of greats such as The Chameleons, The Cure, Jesus & Mary Chain, but also Joy Division or My Bloody Valentine. However, the three men don't get lost in sound quotes, but sound unique, contemporary and extremely powerful. The Foreign Resort are currently working on the follow-up to "Outnumbered", the highly acclaimed album from 2019.

There is no single state of excitement. It can be positively or negatively charged, oscillating between love and anger. It is never set and is always about to tip over into its opposite. And that's exactly what it feels like when you hear "excitement" from Klez.e.
