In the organizer's words:

We are countering our conflict-ridden present with an island of poetry and a desire for the sound of language freed from discursive constrictions. The border triangle around Basel/Freiburg/Alsace will be used for poetic border crossings and a mixture of languages, dialects and nationalities. And we ask what the linguistic spirit of resistance from Dadaism, which renewed our art and society during the First World War, could look like in 2024.

Our idea is born from the spirit of Dadaism, which, at a historical moment when the world was threatening to collapse, invented an art form that had great potential for social transformation and had a lasting impact on the art world.

The simultaneity of the heavy and the light, of desperate helplessness and black humor is the kinship characteristic of the performances of many sound poets. In this way, we want to enable experiences with language that think the raven-black together with the spontaneous, good-humored and open to the future. At the same time, we also want to explore how sound poets who work with dialects relate to each other: What are the tonal intersections between French (Alsatian), Swiss and German sound poetry?

Concerts by musicians who use aesthetic methods related to sound poetry will provide variety in the program.
