The new concert program of the Reines (Muda Mathis, Fränzi Madörin, Sus Zwick ) with songs from the current album
album "Scissor*hood", performative numbers and typographic projections from the in-house video kitchen.
We tailor the world. Scissors stands for skill and drive, for independent, self-determined work and life.
This requires scissors, because they are the tools for DIY.
Scisser*hood means sisterhood with scissors and scissor sisterhood means doing things together
and knowing how.

Les Reines Prochaines can look back on an impressive history full of creative experiments, feminist statements and multimedia art. Founded in 1987 by Muda Mathis, Teresa Alonso and Regina Florida Schmid, the band first appeared at the Alte Stadtgärtnerei in Basel with their performance "Engel haben nie weit". At a time of social change and youth unrest, they combined humor with political commitment and created a space for feminist articulation.

With their approach of understanding music as part of their visual art, Les Reines Prochaines experimented with different sounds and instruments from the very beginning. Their first recordings were made in a small audio studio and released on cassette. The influence of punk, Fluxus, DaDa and conceptual art shaped their style, while they saw themselves as part of the youth movement.

Over the years, the band grew to include talented artists such as Fränzi Madörin and Pipilotti Rist. With their characteristic sound of synthesizer loops, vocals and accentuated percussion, they developed an unmistakable musical identity. Their lyrics are characterized by irony, pathos and a playful examination of the everyday.

The band has released numerous albums over the course of their career, including "Jawohl sie kann's, sie hat's geschafft" and "Coeur en Beurre", both of which were praised for their artistic independence. Their live performances are known for their energy and creativity; they often collaborate with other artists on projects and develop innovative performances in public spaces.

In 2019, Les Reines Prochaines were awarded the Swiss Music Prize - another milestone in their remarkable career. They are currently touring Switzerland and abroad with their new program "Rubination".

Les Reines Prochaines are not only musical innovators, but also cultural trailblazers. Their commitment to feminist issues and social justice remains a central component of their work.
