After studying to become a teacher in Hamburg, he initially worked as an actor and director at various theaters, including the Ernst Deutsch Theater and the Schauspielhaus Nuremberg. In 1983, Axel Beyer switched to television and remained loyal to this medium until 2009. During this time, he took on leading positions in TV entertainment at various television stations, including SFB, WDR and ZDF. As Program Director of Endemol Deutschland Holding and as Chief Producer at Kirch Media Entertainment, he also left his mark on the private television sector. Prof. Beyer is head of the Media School Cologne at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, where he continues to pass on his knowledge and experience to the media makers of tomorrow. The author and sought-after speaker lives in Cologne.
