Luca Kieser was nominated for the German Book Prize in 2023 with his debut Weil da da war etwas im Wasser. His second book Pink Elephant was published by Blessing on August 28, 2024.

It all begins with a headbutt. While Germany dreams of its summer fairytale at the 2006 World Cup, fourteen-year-old Vincent finds new friends in those who beat him up. He soon calls them brothers, smokes shisha with them, hangs out on the street - but still ends up back at his parents' house every night. When things get serious, he realizes that it's all been just a game so far. At least for him. While he smears tanning cream on his face, Ali falls into a coma after jumping out of a window, Tarek can no longer be reached - and a reality strikes in which there are problems that Vincent could never have imagined before.
