Reading and book signing with the well-known F.A.Z. journalist Freddy Langer

Meet journalist Freddy Langer for a reading from his new book "Harte Blicke, stille Städte und ein Fotograf der zur Rakete wird". Freddy Langer has reviewed a good thousand photo books and photo exhibitions over the past forty years. Often out of the enthusiasm of the moment, sometimes with exaggerated skepticism.

He has now selected the reviews of the one hundred and fifty books that he believes will stand the test of time from this pool, years and decades apart. These include classics from Diane Arbus and Robert Frank to Lewis Baltz and Gilles Peress, to whom he has devoted comprehensive reviews. But he also ventures into uncertain territory with a selection of young talents who have received little attention. At the same time, the collection of his texts reflects the development of the photobook market - and thus the changing view of the world.

Cologne-based photographer Benjamin Katz, whose exhibition "Encounters and Coincidences" is also on show in the gallery at the same time, has also been discussed by Freddy Langer on several occasions and is part of the evening's content.
