Lesung „Wir lassen uns nicht unterkriegen“: Junge jüdische Politik in Deutschland

Author Ruben Gerczikow and political and religious scientist Monty Ott provide a kaleidoscope of young Jewish life in their book "Wir lassen uns nicht unterkriegen" (We won't let you get us down). In it, they have accompanied more than a dozen young Jewish people in their commitment and tell their stories in short reports. Since the publication of their book, however, young Jewish lives in particular have been massively affected by the force of events. Both the Russian war of aggression against the whole of Ukraine at the beginning of 2022 and the massacres by the terrorist organization Hamas were to have massive consequences for Jewish lives worldwide. Gerczikow and Ott, who regularly contribute to major newspapers such as taz, Tagesspiegel, Jüdische Allgemeine, FAZ and ZEIT, have many insights and controversial opinions to offer.

On this evening, in addition to a short reading, there will be plenty of opportunities to talk about the current challenges, threats and realities of life for (young) Jews.
