Nothing seems as trivial as the common notions of love. But what do we actually mean when we talk about love? "let me LIED you - all about love" is inspired by the American feminist bell hooks and her book of the same name "all about love". In it, the literary scholar explores the nature of love and vividly conveys to us how often love is actually associated with control, dependency and possessiveness. With a unique fusion of classical art songs, jazz standards, improvisation and poetry, "let me LIED you" makes a charming and entertaining plea for relationships based on mutual respect, empathy and freedom. Not only a musical statement, but also one for the poetry of black feminists, who, like other marginalized groups, are given a voice here. Performers: Amanda Becker - vocals, Roz Macdonald - double bass, Justine Eckhaut - piano (song accompaniment),
Gur Liraz - guitar, Béla Meinberg - piano (jazz)
