The motto of this year's City Lights is "Play of Colors" and from 29 December 2023 to 14 January 2024, various facades in Bremen's city centre will once again be transformed into works of art. The elaborate light illuminations will light up buildings in Bremen City for the fourth time in a row, creating a magical atmosphere in Bremen's city center at the turn of the year.
The buildings illuminated by various artists include St. Peter's Cathedral / Domshof, the Schütting, the Chamber of Crafts, the Übersee-Museum, the Church of Our Lady - including its church tower -, Sögestraße 17-19, Obernstraße 45-47, Obernstraße 90-98, Am Wall 144 and Dechanatstraße 13: here, at the entrance to Schnoor, the façade of the University of the Arts will shine in a new guise thanks to a study project by the HFK. This year's new highlight is a walk-in light installation entitled Time Drifts Bremen.
For the finale of the "Lights of the City", there will be another colorful highlight on January 13 in cooperation with the Bremen Carnival. The shining buildings will be joined by numerous illuminated masks and stilt creations during the "little lights festival".
The lighting concept is sponsored by the City Center Future Fund and implemented by the CityInitiative. All further information on the city lights can be found on the CityInitiative website.
