Literaturklub: Fäden und Stacheln

In the organizer's words:

To kick off the new literature club season, the two Cologne writers Adrian Kasnitz and Bastian Schneider present their new books, take us to Zollstock and prepare us for September.

Summer fades out in the ninth part of Adrian Kasnitz's calendar. Are we going swimming again? Before the fall begins, there are still a few things to do, a few lists to work through. "Recently, pigeons have been sitting / on my roof": animals nest, you get your own spines. Will the drop become a river or a cloud again?

With Zollstock-Alphabet, Bastian Schneider continues the Cologne district series, laying a narrative thread from place to place and writing about the people, streets, squares and oddities of his Veedel. "There was a certificate on the wall at Reiermanns in Höninger Weg, just above the pepper bites: Blutwurstwettbewerb 2003, Gold. The story could actually end here, because how am I supposed to define the immeasurable horizon that opens up there, as cruel as it is dazzling?"
