International competition literary adaptation at the LITFILMS Literature Film Festival Münster at the Schloßtheater: After her debut success with HOLIDAY, Swedish director Isabella Eklöf directs her intense second feature film KALAK, based on Kim Leine's unvarnished memoirs of the same name. [Danish OmeU]

Jan, a nurse and father of two, is on the run from himself after being sexually abused by his father in his youth. He now lives with his small family in Nuuk, Greenland, and tries to connect to the local culture - and possibly to all his traumas - through sexual relationships. When someone calls him Kalak, a Greenlandic word with the double meaning of "real" and "dirty" Greenlander, he wears it like a badge of honor. But eventually he has to face his father.
