During his year-long journey across the African continent by bike, Hardy Fiebig became addicted as a young man - addicted to East Africa and to adventure! He returned again and again to experience Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya by bike, off-road vehicle and on foot. He learns Swahili, makes new friends and marvels at the natural wonders between Zanzibar and the Serengeti, Kilimanjaro and the source of the Nile. His African explorations are guided by small disasters and wonders, sometimes hair-raising, but always full of humor. He finally found a second home in Kenya, where he is still wholeheartedly involved in nature conservation as an honorary ambassador for the country. Whether it's a hair-raising hippo hunt or conquering the summit of the white giant Kilimanjaro - the interplay of events that chase each other can confidently be described as epic. It is an African journey through and through - full of hardships and humor, controlled by miracles and small catastrophes, shaken by tragic strokes of fate - but all the more blessed by paradisiacal nature and impressive people.

TIEF IN AFRIKA is skillfully told. In addition to the purely geographical journey through East Africa to the source of the Nile and back to the Indian Ocean, the entire beauty of East Africa's landscape and wildlife is shown in breathtaking images, whether the world-famous safari parks or our closest relatives, the mountain gorillas on the slopes of the Virunga volcanoes. An eventful biography with a youth in Cairo, a year-long bicycle tour through Africa and countless trips for articles, lectures and books have given Hardy Fiebig a profound knowledge of Arabia and Africa as well as fluency in Kiswahili and Arabic.

He describes his profession as a presenter, photojournalist and bridge builder. His multi-award-winning live lectures are characterized by deep cultural insights, sensitive photography, sparkling rhetoric, infectious humour and interesting food for thought.

Hardy Fiebig is the author of the most comprehensive German-language travel guide to Kenya, Honorary Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, appointed member of the Society for Image and Lecture, one of the two founders of the event agency Grenzgang and Chairman of the Treasures of Kenya Trust, a foundation dedicated to the preservation of Kenya's cultural and natural treasures. He lives in Cologne and Nairobi.
