Weite is a new prog/psych/kraut band consisting of Nicholas DiSalvo (Elder, Delving) and Michael Risberg (Elder) as well as Ingwer Boysen (High Fighter) and Ben Lubin (Lawns)

Weite was originally conceived as a one-off winter project by Boysen, who contacted DiSalvo and Risberg with the idea of writing and recording an album within a week. Having played together in DiSalvo's live band for his project Delving, a certain musical chemistry was already apparent. The three recruited Berlin-based English guitarist Lubin to complete the quartet and retreated for a week of intense songwriting.

Sharing their diverse musical interests and frequently swapping instruments, they quickly produced four songs that channeled a collective love for 60s and 70s psychedelic music, krautrock, jazz and listening to a motorik beat for 20 minutes at a time. The troupe made their way to Big Snuff Studio to record in a short session with Richard Behrens and within a few days "Assemblage" was born. Behrens recorded the band live and captured the essence of the session, sometimes gently and sometimes intensely, with the five of them then embellishing the raw recordings with a hearty dash of experimental overdubs.

After many mundane discussions and almost a year after the project was completed, Weite was officially born when the group decided to continue the project as a proper band.
