Interdisciplinary concert

Field recording is a process that invites us to linger and to sharpen our senses for things - sounds, scenes, smells... - that most of us perceive subconsciously at best in our everyday lives. This focusing of our own attention on the "in-between tones", on what lies beyond what we can control, has arrived in the cultural scene at the latest since John Cage's 4'33" or Pauline Oliveros' Deep Listening. From a technical perspective, field recording (both sound and image) refers to the practice of capturing ambient sounds and/or visual impressions in natural and urban environments. S_4_F is based on this principle. All sounds and images originate from recordings of the environment, some of which are unprocessed, others processed beyond recognition.

Visitors are invited to listen and look closely and join the performer on a musical and visual journey of discovery.
