Luca Vasta has long since created her very own Italo music world: Sonorous, melancholic folk pop that has found its own unmistakable sound between Sicily and Berlin. Or as she says herself: "I make spaghetti pop". Luca Vasta grew up between Remscheid and Ragusa with three siblings, a German mother and an Italian father. Italian pop music has always been a big part of her life. After taking part in the Hamburg pop course in 2010, she moved to Berlin to host her own music show "Vasta TV" on VIVA. The then 20-year-old not only hosted the show, but also took over as editor and started her own blog "Vasta!". Over the next few years, she went on to work for Viva, ZDF ("Sing meinen Song") and RTL ("My Name Is"). She hosts the international music show "PopXport" for Deutsche Welle. At the same time, she is working on her debut album with Daniel Schaub and Olaf Opal. With her first single "Cut my Hair", she became the most promising newcomer on iTunes and the song was featured in a TV commercial for a drinks manufacturer throughout Europe. She toured Europe and Canada with her hit single and her first album. After a longer stay in Sicily, the idea of recording an Italian-inspired album grew. Together with Berlin producer Philipp Steinke (Boy, Bosse, Kettcar), an album is created that shows a new side of the songwriter: for the first time, she sings in Italian, her second mother tongue, and incorporates her origins into the production of the songs. During the creation of the album, Luca decides to found her own label so that she can play a decisive role in all decisions. The songs are all written by her, she produces her music videos herself and follows her own vision every step of the way. Under her label "Gelato Records", the half-Sicilian releases "MODICA", named after her father's birthplace. At the end of 2019, Luca released her second album "Stella" and went on tour with it. It seems as if her full diversity only comes to light on stage. At Luca's concerts, she exudes the spirit and atmosphere of southern Italy. Warm, authentic, cheerful with a touch of melancholy. Her cookbook "Pasta alla Vasta" was published together with her album, which she says was created on a whim. "Listening to my record while cooking the dishes of my Sicilian grandma - a perfect combination, I think." The book and the Instagram cooking sessions, which she established due to a lack of concerts during the corona pandemic, turned out to be a favorite feature of her community. Since 2017, she has produced and hosted the Berlin music show "Lunedi Live". A mixture of live music, talk and quizzes. At the center is the host Luca Vasta, who makes music together with exciting artists (Milliarden, Die Höchste Eisenbahn, Max Prosa, Dota) in an Italo atmosphere. "ESTATE", the first single from her album, became the secret summer hit of 2022 and was highly praised by the media and fans. Her new album will be released in 2023 on her label "Gelato Records".
