Our exhibition "AIR | IMAGE | Potsdam" invites you to take a sightseeing flight over Potsdam. Look out of the zeppelin at the city of over 100 years ago or venture even higher into the cosmos. With the multispectral camera from 1978, you can see details that are barely visible to the naked eye. Discover Potsdam from a rarely seen perspective with more than 150 historical and current aerial photographs.
The exhibition shows aerial photographs from the early 20th century that amazed people at the time - people had never climbed higher than a church tower. Today, it is impossible to imagine everyday life without aerial photographs and anyone with a head for heights can take to the skies themselves. Potsdam aerial photographer Lutz Hannemann has been doing this with enthusiasm for more than 30 years and has documented the city's transformation from above more continuously than anyone else.
But you can also see aerial photographs from the 1980s from the urban planning documentation, which show unusual perspectives flying low over Potsdam.
