ANDRÈ DEININGER
It all began in September 2001, when André Deininger found his place as a rhythm guitarist in a Shadows revival band and played on stage and in front of an audience for the first time. The instrumental songs of Hank Marvin & The Shadows, and selected rock 'n roll classics determined the program of the then formation, from which today's Cliff Rock 'n Roll Band emerged. Perhaps a little unusual for a 21-year-old at the time to devote himself to the
music of the 50s/60s/70s, but it was the time he spent in this band that shaped him musically the most.
A few years later, another band project was added. Abarax, a progressive rock band from Enger, released the concept album "Crying of the Whales" in 2006, with André Deininger as lead singer. In 2010, the second album "Blue Room" saw the light of day. During this time, Abarax played several concerts in Germany, England and Switzerland, including as support for the Canadian rock band SAGA.
In addition to appearances with the Rock 'n Roll Band and Abarax, first engagements at weddings, birthdays and other festive occasions followed, in various formations (sometimes solo, sometimes with a party band). A complete contrast program, you could say. The ambition to be able to give something to people through music became increasingly strong. However, balancing music and professional life also brought its difficulties. And so a decision in favor of music was only a matter of time.
André Deininger has been on the road as a full-blooded musician since July 2017, singing his way into the hearts of people on small or large stages, in pubs or in pedestrian zones, to whom he still has a lot to tell musically. His style is characterized by rock and rock'n'roll classics, which are given a special touch by his powerful voice. Honest, authentic and "unvarnished", he sings about old rum, magic and love, red roses and cannonballs, globetrotting and coming home, or simply about a beautiful world, playing cover versions of well-known songs as well as his own songs.
In May 2020, the musician's first single was released on various streaming portals on the Internet. "The Empty-Crowded Hall" was created right in the early days of the pandemic, which of course did not leave André unscathed. The song describes the confusing situation in which both musicians and music lovers found themselves. It deals with questions about how the future will turn out, with fears about whether everything will really be all right again, but also with the small, quiet chance to improve the world instead of tearing it apart, and with the realization that nothing, absolutely nothing, can be taken for granted.
Free admission. Just come along and enjoy good music and good conversation with acquaintances, friends and strangers, or maybe even a little dance!!!
Don't worry about Bremen's shietwetter, if it rains too much we'll just move to the Lieblingscafé. The Lieblingscafé will also offer a special snack menu on the evenings of MAASSKULTUR, so you can enjoy your evening meal on site.
Enjoy a few hours of music in a relaxed atmosphere on our (hopefully always summery) square with musicians and bands from a wide variety of genres. And if you enjoyed it - musicians love spotlights - then you are welcome to leave something for the musicians and bands...
