Macbeth

In the organizer's words:

Murder follows murder

The battle is won for King Duncan, not least thanks to Macbeth's efforts! High treason and treachery have been defeated, the Norwegian invaders driven out and Scotland can look forward to a new peace.

Returning home from the battlefield, the two victorious generals Macbeth and Banquo meet mysterious sisters of destiny who prophesy to them: Macbeth will become king and Banquo will beget kings without being one himself. The prophecy awakens old desires in Macbeth and his lady. The allure of power drives both the lady and Macbeth himself into an unstoppable, merciless whirlpool. Inevitably, King Duncan and Banquo are murdered. And murder follows murder. Prophecies are fulfilled. The royal rise to power is accompanied by horror and terror and ultimately leads to disruption and death. For what does not come to pass is neither the Lady's enjoyment of power nor Macbeth's ideas of power structures. What remains in the end is a loss of meaning and sheer nothingness.
