Vocal and instrumental music by Josef Mysliveček, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn

Magdalena Kožená, internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, and Václav Luks, charismatic conductor and virtuoso harpsichordist, bring music from their Czech homeland to the stage. Mysliveček was known as "Il divino Boemo" (the divine Bohemian) in Italy, where he was considered an exceptionally successful composer at the time and even the best-paid star of Italian opera. He was celebrated throughout Europe for his 30 or so operas, 50 symphonies and countless chamber works, and Mozart was also an admirer of his beautiful music. Mozart in turn had a musical friendship with Haydn, whose "Scena di Berenice" reveals his particularly fine feeling for the sound of the voice.
