The guest performance of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra promises Mozart bliss and Mahler delights. Chief conductor Daniel Harding, once promoted by Claudio Abbado and one of the most important Mahler interpreters of our time, will be at the podium. With his profound and universal understanding of music and his creative sound, pianist Kirill Gerstein is one of the most renowned pianists of our time. Mozart's D minor Concerto, whose character is dramatic and passionate, is one of the milestones of the genre. Mahler's Symphony No. 7 is then on the program, this multifaceted symphony for a huge orchestra, premiered in Prague in 1908, with its waltz rhythms, herd bells and folk song references.
