Marianne's big debut - or the attempt to become unruly

Tragicomedy by Paul Furtwängler

The tragicomedy "Mariannes großes Debüt - oder vom Versuch widerspenstig zu werden" tells the story of the autofictional trans character Marianne, who is broken by the expectations of the two-gendered society around her. In her fragility, her humanity becomes tangible in the incompleteness, longings and entanglements of queer identity. In her debut as a solo artist, Marianne wants to be in the spotlight as a female icon. But the audience arrives too early and encounters Marianne not ready to play - ready to shine, but in vulnerability and uncertainty. Despite the adverse circumstances, Marianne will give the audience a show - albeit a different one than expected.
