DARK, HAPPY, to the CORE takes a furious look at the myth of ecstasy and euphoria, manifesting a multitude of symbols, archetypes and structures for dance that generate affects and feelings. It is a riotous and complex exploration of what makes us human and what connects us. The piecetakes us on a breathtaking journey from ritual darkness to joyful hardcore to calm, collective, Caribbean coolness, DARK, HAPPY, to the CORE strives for the utopian with abandon - without the worry of ever reaching it.

Malik Nashad Sharpe's award-winning, exciting and formally precise performances address themes such as violence, alienation, horror, melancholy, but also the horizon. He often choreographs under his pseudonym Marikiscrycrycry.
