The Mark Knopfler Tribute Band brings the legendary songs of Mark Knopfler and the dire straits live on stage and draws on the magnificent song material of this exceptional artist's 40-year career.
The versatile arrangements and the stylistic range of the experienced and well-rehearsed sextet are inspiring. Rock songs, melancholy blues and folky moments are presented with great intensity and dedication. Of course, the classics of the dire straits from 'sultans of swing' to 'Romeo & Juliet' and 'brothers in arms' are also included.
The sound is characterized by the guitar playing and vocals of Axel Netzband, who provides a very authentic, button-headed flair. There is hardly any other band that brings the atmospheric density and profound emotionality of this music to life as well as the Mark Knopfler Tribute Band. This is why songs with an epic character, such as 'telegraph road', are almost "experienced" by the audience - and with 'sailing to philadelphia', the listener is immediately whisked away on the sea voyage sung about by Mason & Dixon.
The fact that the Mark Knopfler Tribute Band has been listed as one of the few Mark Knopfler / Dire Straits cover bands on Mark Knopfler's official website since the beginning of 2016 can be seen as proof of the high standard of the Mark Knopfler Tribute Band.
