MATINEE: Ladislav Kondor - Der vergessene Kosmopolit

In the organizer's words:

The Slovenian caricaturist Ladislav Kondor (1901-1963) is being honored for the first time with a show outside Slovenia.

An autodidact and world traveler, Kondor created thousands of caricatures in his almost 30-year career as a caricaturist. In order to caricature people, Kondor traveled through 36 countries and across three continents. He drew heads of state, celebrities and the rich as well as tramps, workers and petty bourgeois. His works are psychological studies that combine the characteristic external features with the personality and soul of the models. At the beginning of the Second World War, Kondor was imprisoned for his caricatures of Hitler and Mussolini.

Unique matinee with guided tour and inspiring discussions on the new exhibition with Tamara Andrejek (curator and art historian Regional Museum Pomurje Murska Sobota) and Eva Jandl-Jörg (Director Museum Wilhelm Busch).
