Max Mehner, author, teacher and photographer from Leverkusen, has just published his third novel after "Fliegenlerner" and "Karagöz": "Der Mann, den sie ZORRO nannten" is a two-part thriller (Crash / Revenge), most of which is set in Cologne.

This is how it begins...
Giselle Neuhaus, a young Cologne businesswoman, is killed while riding her 750 Suzuki. But both her husband, the musician Rafael Herrera, and her former teacher Karl-Wilhelm "KaWe" Wächter doubt the police's explanation that she drove off the road in the fog. Urged on by Rafael, but also driven by his own doubts, KaWe begins to look into Giselle's past. He comes across the former Düsseldorf erotic bar "Roxy", to which Giselle seems to have had a connection. And the name "Zorro" keeps cropping up in this context. Who is behind this name? And what is the story behind the illegal car race that is said to have taken place on the banks of the Rhine in Cologne on the day Giselle died...

Mehner breaks up his entertaining reading with songs from the blues/rock genre.
Vocals, electric guitar and playbacks present themselves as the author's one-man band.
