Maximilian Hecker LOTTEHEART. Musikalische Lesung

Berlin musician Maximilian Hecker presents his debut novel Lottewelt (Lektora Verlag) and also performs songs from his current album NEVERHEART.

Lottewelt tells the story of a man whose (love) life is deeply affected by the early death of his sister Liselotte. The traumatic past catches up with him when he falls in love with the actress Charlotte Lee - a soulmate, it seems, to whom the protagonist instantly loses his broken heart, even though or precisely because the young woman triggers the strange feeling in him that he has found his "fated sister" Liselotte again in her.

NEVERHEART, the tenth studio album by the heartbroken Berliner, alludes to J. M. Barrie's Neverland, the island on which Peter Pan is granted eternal youth, but Hecker's Neverheart does not have the same positive connotations as Barrie's Neverland - the tongue-in-cheek neologism must ultimately be understood as a Wilhelm Hauffian cold heart - the stone heart with which the protagonist of NEVERHEART is constantly confronted in the ten two-tone love songs.
