Michael Kiwanuka picked up the guitar for the first time at the age of 16. At first he composed rock songs, until one day he came across Otis Redding and was captivated by his sound. The Londoner studied jazz, lost himself in the Motown and soul of the sixties and seventies and made this music his life.
