Miriam Stoney mit Robert Schwarz: I’m just saying

In the organizer's words:

I'm just saying is the second collaboration between the artist, writer and translator Miriam Stoney and the composer Robert Schwarz. The performance is based on a soliloquy or soliloquy. Using multi-channel sound, the frequencies of the voice are fragmented, dispersed in space and distorted in time. The soliloquy, a continuous monologue addressed to the speaker herself, is linguistically fractured by the separation and conflict between the English text and its idiosyncratic translation into German. I'm just saying is a classic reflection on consciousness, conscience, judgment and the impossibility of representing oneself to oneself - against the imperative of self-knowledge and self-realization that underlies today's achievement-oriented society.

The Kunstverein will remain open throughout. The bar will be open from 8pm. The performance will be followed by a discussion between the artist and Dr. Martin Karcher.
